Edgar Duguay of Campbellton, and Willie LaPointe, of Jaquet River, first met at the Charlo New Brunswick Bluegrass festival in 1993. That was the only year for the festival, but the friendship between Willie & Edgar continued, and after jammin’ together with friends, Russell Fugere, Mark Parker and Gilles Bernard, in 1996 they formed the band, “Northern Grass”.

After three years with the band, they left in 1999 to form The “Silver fox” Duo.
By 2003 with Edgar on upright Bass and vocals, Willie on guitar & vocals, they added from Belledune, Everett Fournier on banjo and Robert Daigle on mandolin and vocals, becoming “Silver Fox Bluegrass Band.

Silver Fox Bluegrass became the hometown band for “The New Richmond Bluegrass Festival” in the province of Quebec, from its start, in 2003 to 2010, when Willie & Edgar then decided to revert back to their earlier beginnings, and again became The “Silver Fox Duo”. And since that Charlo meeting in July of 1993, Willie & Edgar have appeared on stage at the Blue Mountain bluegrass Festival, in Blue Mountain, New Brunswick, Rogersville, Fredericton Bluegrass Festival, Old Mill festival & campout, Ste. Marie de Kent, Evangeline, PEI, Rough Waters (Bathurst), show-cased at the Rollo bay Festival in PEI. And appeared on CBC Radio during the 2003 Canada Winter Games.

While performing on stage, Willie & Edgar also do some emceeing, and off stage always find time to take part in many benefits, play for seniors and shut-ins. Today, they continue to do what they love and are the emcees and the hometown band for the Campbellton Bluegrass Festival which started in 2007.
